THE TOP LAYER
EUROPEAN OAK
The top layer is 100% Natural Oak and is 4mm thick.
Oak is a popular choice for hardwood flooring because of its strength, durability, versatility, and resistance to wear.
The standard rustic finish we offer further compliments the plank's natural characteristics, which create an authentic look and feel for a modern aesthetic.
THE MIDDLE LAYER
BIRCH PLYWOOD
Engineered flooring is built with these layers of crossing plywood to create a stable core.
Because of this, it makes engineered hardwood less likely to expand, contract, or shift in areas exposed to moisture, humidity, and temperature, making it more resilient than its hardwood counterpart.

Our standard plank width is over 3 times the average width.
Our standard plank offering is 9.44" in width, and our lengths are delivered in assorted sizes but can include board lengths up to 86". Muskoka Plank wants to provide you with a no-fail choice.
EUROPEAN QUALITY
THICKNESS
Our standard boards are 0.5" (14mm) thick, making them a great option for radiant heating systems. If you are connecting to another room with different flooring, the following are some options to consider:

THE DESIGN ELEMENT
Muskoka Plank offers styles in Plank, Chevron, and Herringbone. The standard grading we provide for the Plank is Rustic; Chevron, and Herringbone is Classic.

MODERN PALETTES
We offer 3 collections that vary from an easy-going wash to a richly textured dark palette. Each makes a statement on its own and as part of your space and design.
Muskoka Plank is a crafted product; we recommend referencing our Sample Box for the accuracy of colours. Colours will vary from digital and printed representation.
ACCENT YOUR SPACE
PATTERNED FLOOR OR ACCENT WALL
Consider our Chevron or Herringbone options; great for adding additional texture to the floor of your room or as an accent wall.
Chevron Planks are cut at a 45˚angle, allowing the corners to meet in the middle, creating a continuous zig-zag pattern.
Herringbone Planks are cut at a 90˚angle and create a staggered zig-zag pattern.
GRADING. DEFINED.
Grades explain the added effects to create the character in the planks; we offer Natural, Classic, and Rustic.
Grading includes knot content, grain, colour, and how they all work together to create the character in each plank and within each combination to offer an authentic wide plank interior floor for your space.
GRADING
NATURAL
The Natural grading features diverse colours and wood structures. The planks may have an occasional pin knot or healthy knots fused at 10mm. They do not contain any sapwood.

CLASSIC
Much like the Natural, the Classic grading uses boards of different colours and structures of wood. Healthy knots are putty-filled up to 30mm; black knots up to 15mm.
This finish provides character while keeping with a traditional overall look.

RUSTIC
Rustic grading adds character and an additional layer of visual interest to a room. Healthy knots are filled up to 50mm; black knots up to 30mm.
A wider plank compliments the rustic nature of this grading best.
THE PROTECTIVE COATING
The SAICOS Hard Wax is the coating used for Muskoka Plank boards. This system uses an oxidation system where chemicals dry in contact with air on special trolleys. We prefer this system over UV systems that consist of drying chemicals using a UV lamp. The coating is thicker, the board is better protected, and it has a more natural finish.
This solution is expensive, and most companies opt for a less costly alternative because of the cost of production and the large amount of space needed for these carts.
A board protected with SAICOS Hard Wax and cared for as recommended is a very durable product and does not require sanding the wood to regenerate. To repair the coating you supplement the damaged surface with a layer of wax. You can also do spot repairs on individual boards or areas.
